Turbomachinery Aerodynamics
Project Description: Correlation and modeling of experimental data generated in the UK Large-Scale Low-Speed Axial-Flow Research Compressor (LSRC) and the NASA Glenn Research Center Transonic Flutter Cascade with mathematical models in currently available software. In addition, the DLX is used to analyze large transient experimental data sets from the UK LSRC to quantify the compressor unsteady endwall casing static pressure over the rotor blades as the machine transitions from a stable operating condition to stall. The experimental program in the LSRC is funded by a NASA KY EPSCoR grant.
