Methodological Advances in Evaluating Abuse Deterrent Opioid Analgesics
We will work on text analysis to determine the role various drugs/medications played for individual’s death. We will try to run a set of programs developed by the National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS) and shared on GitHub National-Vital-Statistics-Mortality-Data/README.md at master · CDCgov/National-Vital-Statistics-Mortality-Data · GitHub. The programs allow for parallel processing threads for record selection for large data files. We will analyze the literal text on Kentucky death certificates for decedents who died from drug overdose, 2018-2021. Out team has access to the data due to a data use agreement with the state office of vital statsitics.
