Lipscomb Compute Cluster (LCC)

LCC (Lipscomb Compute Cluster) is named after William Nunn Lipscomb. It entered production in Fall of 2019, building on the successes of the DLX2 and DLX3 HPC systems.

LCC is also breaking new ground in its support for science applications. During the first eight months of operation, our HPC users consumed more than 50 million core hours of compute time and ran about 500K jobs (https://xdmod.ccs.uky.edu/)

The LCC system has multiple generations of Intel CPU processors including the latest accelerator cards from NVIDIA targeted for traditional science and engineering simulation needs as well as machine-learning workloads. LCC design also includes a totally new integration with web access as well as options for high speed data transfer nodes for external data transfers and access to emerging computer technologies such as the cloud.
