Transferring Data to OURRstore Using Globus

This document details the steps needed to transfer files to OURRstore via Globus. For this document, we assume you already have accounts for Globus and OURRstore.

Configuring a Collection For Special Cases

The following links point to different articles related to configuring Globus endpoints to connect more common types of storage.

Accessible Globus Endpoints from CCS Resources

CCS provides several Globus collections for our systems and other storage options you may have. Below are the current collections we maintain, with instructions on how to access them.

Transferring Files via Globus

After you can configure and/or access the collection with the files you want to transfer, follow these steps to begin transferring files to OURRstore.

  1. Go to https://app.globus.org/file-manager and select the two-panel view. Navigate the right panel to U Oklahoma OURRstore.
  2. Click the "Continue" button to acquire an identity from OURRstore.
    1. Click the link on the following page to log into the OURRstore (OSCER) account.

    2. You may be asked to login in again. In that case, click the first link on the page; not the "Link an identity from ..." link.

  3. At this point, you will be at the top level of the OURRstore files. Navigate to the file with your project's name.  If you do not know this, contact you PI or lead member on the project for this name.
  4. For Non-OU users, you will need to upload your files to /<your project name>/tape_2copies or tape_3copies, depending on which replication policy your group chose.

The root directory for this collection is already at /archive/ourrstore/, so you only need to go to /<your project name>/tape_2copies or tape_3copies to get to where your files need to be transferred to.

This is different from when you are accessing the DTN node with SSH, where the full path to access these files is /archive/ourrstore/<your project name>/tape_2copies or tape_3copies.

  5. Navigate the left panel to the collection with the files you want to store on OURRstore. In the below example, the left panel is currently on a personal endpoint.
  6. Click on the file(s) you want to transfer, select any additional options in the "Transfer & Timer Options" menu, and click the "Start" button on the left to begin transferring.
