Computational Fluid Dynamic Modeling of Upper Airway Resistance

There are currently no methods to objectively measure nasal and upper airway obstruction with the purpose of medical treatment and surgical planning. The goal of this project is to further develop a high-fidelity, user-friendly CFD framework for efficient upper airway airflow simulations and (b) to streamline an efficient process to gather CFD data on upper airway airflow. This project will be using patient CT scans translated into 3D models and to apply the CFD simulations. Initial work will be on development of the algorithm and then will be used to run various scenarios to further refine it.
