Group Research Activities

Study the impact of business channels like CNBC, Bloomberg, FBN on retail investors trading. Reasearch activities include running a large language model on TV transcripts to identify company mentions in the channels (NER), and sentiment analysis of the mentions. To refine the analysis, will also train a LLM to predict the relevance of the company in the context, and classify mentions by topics.

Computational methods

Python, Pytorch. Will mainly use transformer models. Those are open sources.
